CAMDAW has engaged in strategic consultations and engagements with influential stakeholders from the African and American private sectors, esteemed investors, and government representatives. These deliberations have led to consequential outcomes, including the establishment of CAMDAW’s subsidiary, CAMDAW Botswana (Pty) Ltd, as a tangible manifestation of our commitment to Botswana’s promising growth and progress.
1. Participation in the U.S.-Africa Business Summit
Mr. Ante Afahame, Chairman of The CAMDAW Group, was invited to the U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Botswana to explore impact investment opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
2. Engagements and Consultations
CAMDAW engaged in extensive consultations with leaders from U.S. and African private sectors, investors, and government stakeholders during the U.S.-Africa Business Summit.
3. Establishing CAMDAW Botswana (Pty) Ltd
Following discussions and analysis, CAMDAW decided to establish a subsidiary in Botswana due to the abundant opportunities and positive engagements with industry leaders and government personnel.
4. Botswana’s Development Goals and Challenges
CAMDAW Botswana is committed to understanding Botswana’s development goals, challenges, and aspirations as outlined in Vision 2036 and the Eleventh National Development Plan (NDP 11).
5. Collaboration with Government-Led Initiatives
Recognition and prioritization of key government-led initiatives, such as the Economic Recovery and Transformation Plan (ERTP) and Economic Inclusion Act of 2021.
6. Engagement with Botswana’s Ministries
Highlighted engagement with various ministries, including Defense and Security, Entrepreneurship, Communications, Education, Agriculture, Minerals and Energy, Justice, and Trade and Industry.
